The real world is full of "leaders" but none of them as great as those found in fiction. You can't beat their decisive nature, hard-core attitudes, and the ability to rally people to their sides in a heartbeat with a powerful speech. These make believe persons are the true inspiration for many of us and help shape who we are.

Oh, who am I kidding. They are just kick-ass characters and we are a society of people who love men of action.

Those who know me well know that I have one man that I look to for absolute insight into what it is to be awesome. That man is the witty Captain Mal of the canceled to soon Firefly. He's a man that struggles with the balance between being a good person and being a criminal in a universe where The Alliance is the all powerful authority hunting him down. He is also a man with a passion for fun who can become a dedicated leader at the drop of a hat (or dead body of preacher). He is very protective of his crew and will risk his life for them as long as he doesn't die. For these reasons and many more I would like to welcome Captain Malcolm Reynolds to the ranks of Great Fictional Leaders.

Behold the New Red Dawn Cast!!

You heard me right. They are remaking Red Dawn (they remake everything these days). If you don't remember, the movie is about the Soviet Union and Cuba attacking the United States on our home soil and the group of Colorado high school students who fight back. It's a classic that is well liked and was well made so naturally Hollywood has to redo it in hopes of making more money off of us, the consumer whores.

Well, the cast for this remake has been set and /Film has the info:

Chris Hemsworth (best known as Kirk’s father in JJ Abrams’ Star Trek) will be playing Jed Eckert (played by Patrick Swayze in the original), a marine on leave, who leads the group into battle.
Josh Peck (The Wackness) will be playing Matt Eckert (played by Charlie Sheen in the original), the younger brother of Jed and the high school’s star quarterback.
Adrianne Palicki (Friday Night Lights) will play Toni Mason (played by Jennifer Grey in the original), survivor turned tough girl and Jed’s possible love interest.
Josh Hutcherson (Journey to the Center of the Earth) will play the role of Robert, originated by C. Thomas Howell, the Wolverine’s tech geek and communications specialist who transforms into a warrior along the way.
Isabel Lucas (Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen) will play Erica, a role originated by Lea Thompson, the Wolverines’ head cheerleader and Matt’s girlfriend who becomes incarcerated in an internment camp after the invasion.
Edwin Hodge (Mental) will play Danny, a role originated by Brad Savage, no longer the young kid but the cool kid in school, the Wolverines’ wide receiver, and Matt’s best friend.
Connor Cruise (son of Tom Cruise, appeared in Seven Pounds) as Daryl, a role originated by Darrne Dalton — The mayor’s son, the youngest Wolverine, and Robert’s best friend.

I'm pretty intrested with their choices. I liked Chris Hemsworth as papa Kirk even though he didn't have much screen time. He still has a very strong air of young leadership which will work well in this movie. Josh Peck has really come pretty far from his days as the fat kid from Snow Day, All That, or even Drake and Josh. I want to see what he brings to this movie. And of course we got to see Isabel Lucas as the "hot chick who is really a robot dog" in Transformers 2 so I would like to see if she can really act or is just another pretty face. However, we are all well aware that an interesting cast doesn't always make for a good movie. Just look at The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen.

I'm a geek through and through. I'm all about nerd stuff and if I had the money I too would be there at Comic Con amongst Triumph's victims. But for some reason I still love listening to him make fun of my people. Perhaps it's a form of masicism or I'm amongst the few people who have the ability to laugh at themselves. I'll let you decide which... or add a new more interesting option. I like surprises!!

DC Universe Online

Stephen Schleicher over at Major Spoilers has posted an article about what he's hearing from Comic Con about the DC Universe Online MMORPG coming out.

The articles and stories coming out of the San Diego Comic Con regarding the upcoming DC Universe Online MMO (Massive Multiplayer Online) Game, haven’t been very detailed, but here’s what we know so far…

* The game will use the Unreal 3 engine for physics based games. If you are in the path of a bus that another character has thrown, be prepared to get knocked down and suffer some damage.
* There will be accessible environments. If you have speed based powers, you may literally be able to run up the sides of buildings.
...
* The game will be simultaneously on the Xbox 360, PS3, and PC systems...
...
* Players can work through a mentor like the Batman or The Joker (called Side Kick For Real), or they can strike out on their own with the Patrol (good) or Prowl (bad) PvP interaction.

Stephen lists more details that relate to the fact that the game is going to stay true to the DC Universe and will allow players to experience just about everything they would expect if they were actually in that world.

I get the feeling for that this is going to be nothing more then a DC licensed version of City of Heroes/Villains. I'm sure it will be very pretty from the images I've seen but will the gameplay be worth it? I've played many pretty games and some of which are MMO's that have let me down. I really hope this isn't one of them.

Remember my post a few months ago on the Battlestar Galactica prequel Caprica. Well, production is in full swing and a trailer has hit the web. The following footage was screened to the Television Critics Association press tour on July 20.

This show looks like it has a lot of the elements that make Battlestar so great. Great dramatic acting with great thought invoking morally questioning issues. This will be a great series if they do it right and I will definitely be there to see it when it airs this December.

Family Guy Spin-off : The Cleveland Show

Well, looks like they are going through with it. It has been rumored for a while that Cleveland (the black guy from Family Guy) was getting his own show. Starting Spring of '09, Fox will have a new show on it's Sunday lineup.

Summed up, the show is about Cleveland heading back to his home town to help a recently divorced ex-girlfriend raise her kids which includes a flirtatious stepdaughter and a 5-year old lady's man. He will also get some wacky neighbors such as bears, a Victorian-style British family, and red-necks. But don't take my word for it. Check out the promo below.

If Family Guy gets another season, who will they get as their wacky black next door neighbor. Maybe they will give Ollie Williams more just a line a week. Let's wait and see if this works out. Or is as dull as American Dad (except for Patrick Stewart... anything with him is gold).

Hancock Trailer

I'm a fan of Will Smith. It seems like what ever movie he does, he puts his heart into it. His characters are always enjoyable (no matter how bad the movie is). Apparently he has a new one coming out this summer (his favorite time of year) called Hancock. Since I haven't heard much of it so I had to look up.

Wikipedia had the following description:
Will Smith portrays an alcoholic superhero despised by everyone. A publicist (Jason Bateman) helps rehabilitate him, and the superhero eventually begins an affair with the publicist's wife (Charlize Theron).

Doesn't sound that interesting right? Well, I watched the trailer below and I have to say I'm a little interested. It seems like this is one of those "heroes under construction" kind of situations. We will get to see Hancock go from a horrible person with powers to a true superhero. Check out the trailer and see what you think.

The movie will be hitting the theaters July 2nd up against pretty much nothing so this movie will be a box office winner one way or another.

I love this wacky clock over at Christiaan Postma. This unique clock has 150 hours hands on a large blackboard background. All the hands rotate to form 12 words from "one" to "twelve." The words represent the hours of the day.

You can check out a fast forwarded animation of the clock in action here.

This very odd but classy clock had to take a lot of thought and planning but the look is a great payoff. Anyone with this in their house will look very sophisticated. Of course, that would never fly in my house because I'm anything but sophisticated... now if it had little lightsabers as hour hands, that would be different story.

As you all might have noticed from my posts the past few weeks, I'm very excited about the final season of Battlestar Galactica. I rewatched the previous seasons of and was greatly impressed by how great Adama is with his crew. That man can make someone jump out an airlock with just a look. The Seeker Review

[NOTE: This review may contain spoilers. If this bothers you... then don't read it!]

I rented this movie last weekend with my brother. We are both big fans of sci-fi and fantasy so we were curious to see if this was a good movie. We are curious no more. Equivalent to the I.Q. rating of Forest Gump, this movie falls below average.

The movie revolves around a young man named Will Stanton, a young boy turning fourteen, who learns that he is a warrior of "The Light" known as The Seeker. As The Seeker it is his job to locate symbols hidden around town in different forms and time periods in order to stop the evil forces uncreative called "The Dark." During his "seeking" he is forced to deal with an agent of The Dark who rides on a horse and is called The Rider. (Anyone seeing "the" pattern here?) Guiding him on his mission are ancient warrior of The Light who are called (drumroll) The Old Ones.

The majority of the movie's time is spent watching Will deal with his family. We get some insight into his family history and his unknown past, which turns out to be very dull. We learn three things about his father; he is a physicist that used to study The Dark (which makes you wonder who would give him a degree), he doesn't have time for Will but always has time for his other sons, and that he should never be allowed to babysit children. We learn that his mother trusts leaving strange men alone with her son. His brothers do what older brothers do in every other movie; they pick on him, take his stuff, go after a girl he's infatuated with, beat him up, and give him a lame gift that has no conceivable purpose in the real world but happens to be just what a Seeker needs. Then there is his little sister who is caring, giving, respects him, does what he says, doesn't bother him, and doesn't tell people about his strange abilities... you know, like all 11 year old little sisters right?

As for the overall "adventure".. lets just say uncreative covers it pretty well. Bad guy threatens little kid. Little kid is lead by old people who are perplexed by the child's wacky youthful behavior. Kid acts like a brat but becomes brave and heroic in the end. Bad guy sends spy in cloak who is revealed to be exactly who you thought it was the whole time. Bad guy loses to kid suddenly realizing something obvious at the last minute when all hope is almost lost. Oh, and don't forget the happy ending where no one remembers anything of consequence and the previously destroyed town is now back the way it was.

This movie is good for only a Saturday night rental when all the good movies have already been taken. The story is horribly standard, the dialogue is boring, the characters never really have any development, and the "final battle" consists of nothing but wire and pulley tricks covered up with pretty computer graphics. I do have to say the computer graphics are indeed pretty. They, and the great camera work are the only reason this movies is only just below average and not just above horrible. I hope the CGI team gets all the credit for what they did for this movie because without them the movie wouldn't have made the money that it has.

This upcoming Friday, April the 4th, is the beginning of the end for Battlestar Galactica but that doesn't mean that you have to stop loving this brilliant show for a second. Forbidden Planet has a brilliantly funny poster for sale that will give you 10 easy tips to keep in mind when watching out for cylons.

The picture quality is low (as if they didn't want anyone to get the image for free). So for those who aren't going to buy the poster, which I'm sure most of you are to lazy/poor/cheap to do so, here is the list written out for you.

Do they ask questions about fleet operations, personnel, ship systems, or weapons?
Does their spine glow red when they are....excited?
Have you seen them before but you know it's not the same person?
Do they seem unusually strong, smart, or self-assured?
Do you see them hanging around secure or restricted areas?

Battlestar Galactica and Caprica

As many of you should know by now, this season of Battlestar Galactica will be the last. The show will return to air with 20 episodes starting April 4th. I am hyped to see how it all goes down especially knowing that this show has been fully thought out since the beginning. It will be a bitter sweet good-bye but it is not the end of this universe. It has been announced that Caprica is a go.

Caprica is a prequel series set to take place before the cylon wars.

"Set 50 years before the events of Battlestar Galactica, Caprica follows two rival families--the Greystones and the Adamas --as they grow, compete and thrive in the vibrant world of the 12 Colonies. Enmeshed in the burgeoning technology of artificial intelligence and robotics that will eventually lead to the creation of the Cylons, the two houses go toe to toe."

And don't expect the show to be like the one we now know and love.

... Caprica will be a markedly different series...If Battlestar Galactica is Black Hawk Down, I would say that Caprica is American Beauty.

I liked both Black Hawk Down and American Beauty but I don't like the idea of suck a dramatic change for the Galactica Universe. I would love the chance to explore young Adama and how he became the man he is. But I hope they don't make it feel like a futuristic version of "The OC" or "Beverly Hills 90210."

Casting hasn't started yet for Caprica but development for a two hour pilot is planned for this spring. And look for some familiar names in the credits because some of the producers and crew on Battlestar Galactica are going to work on Caprica as well.

Oh, and don't forget to pick up a copy of Battlestar Galactica Season 3 on DVD now. Or just BitTorrent it. Which ever you prefer.

Guitar Hero on the DS

Some of you might remember my post on the Guitar Hero: Air Guitar at the CES show. Well I guess the idea of a portable version of Guitar Hero isn't new. IGN has revealed that a DS version of Guitar Hero is in development. The game, titled Guitar Hero: On Tour, will come with an attachment for the DS which will have the well known colored "fret" buttons (minus the least loved orange one). You can watch this video here which shows how the game play will go and that upon purchase you will have the sudden desire to climb buildings to play the game.

They haven't released the full list of 20 songs yet but Nirvana, OK Go, and No Doubt are reportedly on the list. More information should be appearing soon because they are trying to release the game this summer.

This should be a fun game. If they are able to capture the addictive qualities of the original game and with decent multiplayer this will indubitably be a hit. I know I'm looking forward to showing off my non-guitar guitar playing skills on the streets. You know, for the ladies.

Battlestar Galactica: The Last Supper

This is "The Last Supper" as reimagined with the cast of Battlestar Galactica. It was appearently printed in Entertaiment Weekly but is also shown on the Battlestar Galactica page on Scifi.com. I like how it appears to me that Six is playing a christ-like figure in this picture. I wonder if that's a hint at something in the upcoming season.

The fourth and final season officially began with the tv movie "Razor." The remaining episodes will be split in two halves. The already filmed episodes will begin airing April 4, 2008 well the production on the last episodes is set to begin this month. I can't wait to see how it all turns out but with this great of a show I'm sure it will be amazing.

Starship Troopers 3 : Marauder

I loved Starship Troopers. It's one of those movies that you really enjoy on a sunday morning when you are feeling lazy and just want to lounge out on the sofa. The great special effects, intense carnage, and the creative way of how it was all pieced together made the first Starship Troopers movie great. The sequel is 2 hours of my life that I will never get back. Damn you for exploiting a good movie.

Well, despite how horrible the second movie was, the first one was apparently good enough to create a third movie. This time they bring back Johnny Rico (Casper Van Dien) to fight some more bugs. They've released a trailer which is posted below. My only comment about the trailer is that it doesn't look horrible but it doesn't really sell me on the idea of watching this movie.

Starship Troopers 3 : Maurauder is a direct to DVD release that is set to be released July 15,2008 but like always, the date might change.

The Clone Wars, TV Series Trailer

I loved the animated shorts on Cartoon Network, Star Wars: Clone Wars. The animation was great and it was nice to have a glimpse of what happened during these fated wars. Now, a new series is coming out this fall called Star Wars: The Clone Wars. It too takes place between Episode II and Episode III.

Star Trek Movie Date Moved

I know this is week old news but as they say, better late then never.

The upcoming Star Trek movie has been moved form December of this year to May 8th, 2009. The change is due to a "major reshuffling to the studio’s release calendar" which I assume is in an attempt to give certain movies more time due to the WGA strike. The strike, which is on the verdge of ending as soon as all the members approve the new contract, has undoublely created a lot of trouble for all the studios out there and I'm sure we will see similar shuffling of movies in the upcoming months.

I am actually very glad to hear that this particular movie has been given five more months to pull things together. From what I've read about the movie, there are several details that need to be fixed and I'm sure J.J. Abrams looks forward to the opportunity to make changes.

This is good news. Be patient.

Big Changes for Stargate: Atlantis

[NOTE: Spoilers ahead. Read if you want to know, or don't if you're a pansy. Your choice]

So far this season there hasn't been too much opportunity for Colonel Carter to show her ability to lead the Atlantis team. Each episode either had everyone separated into small groups, amnesia of sorts, Sheppard leading a small group of the cast, or only a brief minute of Carter on film. Nothing much to speak of. Well, with the success of one of Amanda Tapping's projects, Sanctuary, she is going to drop from the regular cast during the fifth season.

Who is going to take her place? Well, Dr. Jennifer Keller (Jewel Staite)will now be a regular cast member during the fifth season as well as the new administrator of Atlantis : Richard Woolsey. Yes, Robert Picardo will renew his role as the uptight I.O.A representative and will join the cast as their new commander.

I'm not surprised by the change of command due to the lack of Carter as it is, but the choice of the new commander is a little odd. I like the fact that we will no longer have a liked character but a known pain in the ass, but I'm still unsure. This could be a jumping of the shark or simply a unique development. It all depends how the writing goes and with the WGA strike coming to an end soon (I will comment about that tomorrow) this could be a good thing. Let's wait and see.

Oh, and keep an eye out for Dr. Carson Beckett to make a five episode return and a brief visit from Daniel Jackson.

2008 Superbowl Commercials

First of all, I loved this year's Superbowl. I knew the Giants were the underdogs going into it but I had confidence in them because over the past several weeks they have stepped up their game and met heavy challenges. I had high hopes that they would be the ones to deny the Patriots of their perfect season. It came down to the last few minutes and the Giants were able to pull it off. Great job guys.

Okay, now for the commercials. They were mostly bland. A lot of the same old stuff you see every year. Some were straight forward, some were awkward, and some were pathetic. Pepsi really cornered the market in getting my attention with a few great ads and Coke had Stewie and Underdog fighting for an inflatable drink. We have Ironman looking even more fantastic then the trailer showed and the new Will Ferrel movie looks boring and repetitive of all his other movies. Bud Light was uncreative in showing older ads and Dell was just annoying with their efforts. The most path

It had a catchy tune. It had a lot of quick "hey, was that what's his face" celebrities. It had a great finish with Chris Kattan. Most importantly it was just plan silly without being ridiculous.

Nothing makes a good ad like racist stereotypes, an unfunny use of cartoon pandas, and straight forward, no one really cares about "100 free sales leads." Next time, just tell us why you don't suck, it might make for a better argument.

I know I'm not the only one looking forward to Super Smash Bros. Brawl for the Wii. The last Smash Bros. became the most played game on the Gamecube and I'm sure this new game will do the same. I can't wait to take my friends down with my made Donkey Kong skills.

Star Wars: Force Unleashed Video

Gametrailer.com has a great video showing how they are working on Star Wars: Force Unleashed and some of the mechanics going into it. I like the way the game looks. I love when games take the time to try and make it as realistic as possible and this video shows that. It also shows a whole lot of ways of how using the force is fun! Weeeee!!

The story will revolved around you, Darth Vader's secret apprentice, seven years after the events of Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith. Your mission will be to continue Order 66 and kill the remaining Jedi in the galaxy.

Heath Ledger Found Dead

I'm sure most of you know this already because this news has hit the web hard. The future Joker in the upcoming The Dark Knight, Heath Ledger, has been found dead today.

At 3:31 p.m., according to the police, a masseuse arrived... for an appointment with Mr. Ledger. The masseuse was let in to the home by a housekeeper, who then knocked on the door of the bedroom Mr. Ledger was in. When no one answered, the housekeeper and the masseuse opened the bedroom and found Mr. Ledger naked and unconscious on a bed, with sleeping pills — both prescription medication and nonprescription — on a night table. They moved his body to the floor and attempted to revive him, but he did not respond. They immediately called the authorities.

There is no word of foul play at this time but I just don't understand why the man would overdose, accidental or otherwise. I will post more if their is any further word about the cause of Ledger's death.

Star Trek Teaser Trailer

I saw the trailer last night well watching Cloverfield. It's your typical teaser trailer. Lots of filler and only a moment or two of payoff. The above image is the best part. It's our first glimpse at the new Enterprise. Other then that there isn't much else to the trailer other then a brief audio clip of Leonard Nimoy.

The only problem I have with this trailer is that a rumor I heard online says that the ship will be built on earth and not in space, which this teaser seems to confirm. The construction workers aren't wearing space suits and there is no "outerspace" background to it. As a result I am both excited for and not looking forward to this movie. I really hope the next trailer tells me more of what I'm in store for and can help me decide if I should be ready for a good movie or a bad one.

Cloverfield Review

First and foremost I will address this upfront. This is a movie that doesn't use a steady cam. The camera shakes often, it is sometimes blurry, the footage is off center, and the camera will move around rapidly. Fortunately, those of us who remember the Blair Witch Project (or will admit to having seen it at least) will be glad to know they don't shake it to the point of nausea and that they do keep it relatively stable at times. With that out of the way let's get down to business.

Cloverfield starts of at a slow pace. It gives you about 15 minutes of story development that helps build your relationship with these characters. I appreciated this because I felt invested in what happens to these people during this catastrophe, not just an outside observer. There were actually several moments when I did feel like I was experiencing the alien attack first hand which is greatly aided by the hand held camera perspective of the movie.

The action picks up very quickly once the initial attack takes place in which we all get to think to ourselves "oh boy, here it comes." And yes it does come. Explosions, running, screaming ("Is it another terrorist attack?"), and the severed head of the Statue of Liberty. We only get brief glimpses of the creature attacking New York for the first half of the movie and once we start seeing the creature in whole we learn that it's a giant monster that has smaller creatures fall from it's body. Let's just say that these smaller monster have a nasty bite that has explosive reprocustions.

I don't want to give away too much of the story away but I will say that the majority of the movie revolves around Rob, his brother Jason, Jason's girlfriend Lily, Hud (our cameraman), Hud's crush Marlena, and Beth, the woman Rob loves. Rob and his friends are basically on their way out of New York when Rob learns Beth needs his help and he enlists his friends to help. They race around the now under attack New York City in hopes of finding her and saving her.

Cloverfield is something that you have to experience because honestly speaking, this is a movie that will be talked about a lot. There are several moments in the movie that will shock you, make your heart race, and will make you wonder if you could handle it if this really happened to you. This movie has all the key elements: horror, action, humor, and love. It was very enjoyable and feels a lot faster then it's 90 minute running. Just keep in mind that a lot of the best parts happen very quickly so keep your eyes glued to the screen.

Because most of this movie's best moments happen in the blink of an eye, I will point out two things. One, during the last minutes of the film you will see a view of Coney Island. Keep an eye on the right horizon for something falling into the ocean. Two, after the credits you will get a brief audio message that is very staticy and hard to understand. The message seems to be "It's still alive".

Mulder and Scully Together Again

For those under unaware of it, a new X Files movie is coming out this summer. July 25th is "The X Files 2" will be hitting the theaters and will be bringing Mulder and Scully back together for another alien conspiracy.

I'm not sure if I'm looking forward to this movie given how the show ended. I loved the show but near the end it just kind of faded away and lost a lot of it's appeal. I might watch the movie if I hear good things about it or if my friends decide to go. Otherwise, I will probably wait till it hits the net... I mean DVD.

8th Harry Potter Movie

United Press International has an article that states that crew members working on the current movie adaptation of the 6th book, Harry Potter and The Half-Blood Prince, has mentioned that the 7th book might have to be made into two movies. Their concern is that there is so much story in the final book, Harry Potter and The Deathly Hollows, that it would be difficult to reduce it into a single movie.

"There's so much to fit that the view is the last movie should be in two halves," one anonymous source said. "There is a huge battle when Harry, played by Daniel Radcliffe, takes on Voldemort that needs to be done really well."

They state that it is all a matter of keeping the "artistic vision" of the story intact and it is "not aimed at cashing in on the highly profitable series." Which I frankly don't believe. I am an avid reader of the series and have watched the movies with cringes and cries of pain. They have manipulated, cut, and re-imagined the "artistic vision" of the previous books since the second movie. They have shown no concern for the original vision of the story nor presenting information that is vital to the depth of the story.

Simply put, they are just using the excuse of the battle at the end of the last book to milk this movie franchise for every penny they can get. It's no different then how many movies have repeated re-releases of movies in order to have people who love the movies buy them again for an added scene or feature. The scary thing is that despite so many of the buyers being aware of this fact, they still purchase the extended special editions and I have no doubt that people will watch the split-up Harry Potter movie.

More Star Trek Movie News

I have three bits of news/rumors about the upcoming Star Trek movie.

The first bit of news is that the teaser trailer will premier before JJ Abrams other upcoming movie, Cloverfield January 18th 2008. So if you aren't interested in the movie, which I am on the fence about, then look for it the next day online.

Secondly, another actor has been added to the cast of the movie. Tyler Perry will be playing the head of the Starfleet Academy. Don't worry, he won't be dressed up as his annoying old black woman persona. The rumor is that Perry's scene takes place with Spock and Kirk and it relates to him being upset over the rigging of the Kobayashi Maru exam. The famous "no win" scenario mentioned in Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan where Kirk is the only known victor.

In relation to the above mention of the rumor about the Kobayashi Maru exam, comes in as the final tidbit of information. Quint, over at AintItCool.com, has reported that a source of his has read the script and shared with him the details of how young James T. Kirk actually won the "no win" scenario. Apparently, Kirk sleeps with a girl who in return alters the program for him. If true, that would be very much in character with the Kirk that we have come to know and love. Also, if true, it will definitely add towards a positive review from me about this movie when I see it.

The 4400 and The Dead Zone Canceled

TVSquad.com has posted that both The 4400 and The Dead Zone have been canceled.

The 4400, which completed its 4th season back in September, has been waiting to find out its fate. Yesterday series creator Scott Peters announced in a post on the USANetwork.com forums that the show has been canceled:

"We've had a great time bringing you this story and submersing you in the lives of all these incredible characters. ...But at least we got to go out with a bang! I had an awesome time directing the last episode. I think I got to make almost every single cast member cry (on camera). ...So let me raise my metaphorical glass to you all and thank you for being so loyal and so dedicated. I wish we could go on forever, but the party has come to an end."

I've only seen a few episode in of this show and I honestly never got into it. It was just to slow paced for me but I know a friend of mine loved the show completely so it definitely had it's following. For all those out there who wish to fight this can "sign" the petition at this link.

Joining The 4400 in the "Will Not Be Back" column is The Dead Zone. The show, also on the USA Network, has been on for 6 seasons and I was along for the ride for the first 2 seasons. I'm sorry to say it for you now mourning fans, but after the 2nd season the show just seemed to lose some of it's magic. I watched a few episodes during the 3rd season in hopes that the show would keep its unique and interesting writing but it seemed to drop off dramatically. I was honestly quite amazed that the show lasted 6 seasons in the first place. Don't get me wrong, I loved the acting of Anthony Micheal Hall, but the shows story began to diverge from what it was in the beginning. It became nothing more then a gimmicky show with single episode storylines and repeating themes.

Well, whether you liked the show or now it is over. However, just like The 4400 a petition has been started on the USANetwork.com forums that you can also "sign" at this link. As a big fan of Firefly I am on your side and hope you guys are able to change the fates of your shows. At least to get an ending to your shows to wash out the bitter tastes in your mouths.

Star Trek: Online - First Game Play Image

I am going back and forth on whether or not I am interested in Star Trek: Online which is an MMORPG currently in development by Perpetual Entertainment. If you don't remember Perpetual recently cancelled Gods and Heroes and have now focused all their efforts into the development of this game. I just feel it has taken too long to release this photo when they should probably already be providing video given how hard they are suppose to be working on it.

Don't get me wrong, this picture is immaculate. The visual display, the ship, space, and even the artwork on the pop-up message display are all wonderful pieces of work. The only problem is that it has taken them too long to get to this point. The game has been in development since late 2004 and yet we aren't getting much word on gameplay, story, playable races, etc. Everything that has been released so far has either been changed or has been denied. I just wish they would share more of what's going on like Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning or Age of Conan.

Maybe I'm just being nit-picky because I've been I love the Star Trek franchise and have been looking forward to this one for some time now.

Speed Racer Pictures

I've only seen maybe a total of 5 minutes of Speed Racer ever. I'm just not someone who grew up watching it but I'm sure quite a few of you out there are looking forward to this movie.

The movie is being made by the Wachowsky ~~Brothers~~ Brother and Sister and stars Emile Hirsch as Speed Racer, Christina Ricci as Trixie, and Matthew Fox as Racer X. The movie is set to be released May 9th, 2008 so we can expect it to big budget since it's starting off the summer blockbuster of movies.

I am really looking forward to seeing this movie this weekend and experiencing a great book/movie conversion.

Speaking of books turned into movies the trailer for the upcoming The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian was also released. Take a look. I think the movie looks pretty like the last one, but will it be as childish as the last one?

I am really looking forward to this movie. These pictures just remind me how much I loved the original trilogy of Indiana Jones movies and how much I miss good movies. I really hope this movie lives up to my expectations without making me have to create a new memory after seeing it at the theaters. Then again, creating new memories over bad experiences is why I still enjoy going to the movies at this point.

If They Made A Movie : Captain Planet

Do you remember waking up early to get ready for school and watching "Captain Planet and the Planeteers" well you ate breakfast? Well, that's when I always saw the show. It gave me something to watch well I chomped down what ever I leftovers I found in the fridge that I decided to eat as my gourme breakfast.

Anyways, I was wondering, what if they made this show into a movie. Hollywood is always looking at older tv shows to make a few bucks at the box office so why not Captain Planet? They probably are too scared of getting things wrong but I think the truth is that they are worried the movie will become too much of a hippy, earth hugging love fest. So, I'll take the first step and make the following suggests on what I think they need to do to make this a great movie.

Cast:
Captain Planet - Ty Pennington of Extreme Makeover: Home Edition

WHY? They both have the same "good guy image" (even after Ty got a DUI charge and I wouldn't be surprised if Captain Planet had one too), they have the same hair cut, they are both partially annoying well being equally cool, and both are great at bad dialogue.

Kwame - Nick Cannon of Drumline
WHY? He's young, black, and he still has a career so somebody out there likes him and who ever they are they will watch this movie. Besides, Kwame is pretty much part of the group only because of affirmative action so no one really cares about him so I doubt we will have to see much of Cannon on screen anyways.

Wheeler - Shia LaBeouf of Transformers
WHY? Shia is a rising star right now. He one those names that people are starting notice and could be one of the next big movies stars. Get him now before he asks for too much money. Also, Wheeler, as we all know, is the only Planeteer that anyone ever really wanted to be. He had the ability to call up fire so he will definitely be the true star of this picture so Shia will be a great name at the top of the movie poster.

Linka - Jessica Boehrs of Eurotrip
WHY? In Eurotrip Jessica had the "sexy foreign blond" cliché well covered. She has a sexy accent, a great body, and no body really cares too much how well she acted because we mostly had our attention attached to her chest. Besides, who else is there really? Most blonde actresses are American or Canadian and would probably have a terrible fake accent.

Gi - Katie Leung of Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix
WHY? Another character that wasn't very important to the show. She was just a pretty Asian girl filling in the rainbow of ethnicities so all we need is a pretty Asian girl to play her. Katie would be great because she is cute and will probably bring in the Harry Potter fans just by mentioning that she was in one of the Potter movies.

Ma-Ti - Kal Penn of Harold and Kumar Go to White Castle
WHY?I everyone's first thought is that annoyingly unfunny Wilmer Valderrama from "That 70s Show" but I decide to go with someone with far more talent. Honestly, I fell bad making anyone Ma-Ti because he was the most useless Planeteer. The power of "heart" was such a pathetic attempt to create a "cuddly and kid friendly" power they might as well have had him scream out "rainbows" or "daffodils" for all the good his abilities did for the show. Despite my dislike of making anyone be Ma-Ti, he still needed to complete the set so Kal Penn's ability to add comic relief to a movie should come in handy.

As for Gia, all they need to do is find some random old actress who is into recycling and protecting the environment so she can add both a name and money to the project.

Director:
Christopher Nolan is my first pick because any man who can revive the Batman franchise with the masterpiece Batman:Beings is definitely a director needed to make this a great movie. He would give the movie a darker tone which would appeal to the now 20 something males that used to watch the show. He would also add the much needed realism to the screenplay and will probably add a lot of credibility to the project.

Story:
The story needs an actual physical villain that Captain Planet can fight unlike Superman Returns where the climax of the movie was Superman lifting a rock. Captain Pollution, the anti-Captain Planet from the show, would be perfect for the movie because it requires that most of the villains from the show to appear in the movie and would create a whole "good versus evil" effect. The villains all need to be evil in the sense that we have know they would kill someone, not must steal a candy bar from a helpless toddler.

The overall story needs to revolve around the fact that this is world wide disaster taking place not just localized to just the United States. This movie is about Captain Planet and the Planeteers, not Commander Americans and the Patriotic Teenagers. The big advantage to making a global battle is that this will force the Planeteers to summon Captain Planet to fight the main villain well they each break off to go and fight the subvillians in different parts of the world. The only downfall to this aspect is that it would require a good budget (or a creative director) to ensure the realism of disasters (probably tsunamis, earthquakes, and wild animals attacking people so Ma-Ti has something to do).

A love story between Wheeler and Linka would probably be the most likely romance element of the movie but it needs to be downplayed. It should be mostly hints of flirting that results in a key moment when Wheeler saves Linka during the climax of the movie. Above all else, no cheesy love dialogue with the words "love," "dreams," "hope," "believe," or "heart." These are teenagers from different countries, good old body language, awkward moments, and eye contact should suffice.

The comedic element of the movie should revolve around little jabs at international misconceptions. Don't make the Asian girl the smartest of the group. Don't make the American the biggest jerk. Don't make the black guy "street" in any way (yes, I am aware this will be difficult with Nick Cannon as Kwame but that's why I am hoping a better actor comes along).

These are just a few of the key ideas I have. I left my description open so that it is scene mostly as guidelines rather the movie itself. This movie will be a hard one to write and I don't envy anyone who tries it because it will involve a thorough knowledge of other countries, cultures, governments, and the mechanics of natural disasters. This is if they want to make it a good script. Above all else though, what ever they do, the story can not contain any of the following clichés:

Aliens invading Earth

Toxic waste, New Orleans floods, Malibu fires, or rainforest deforesting.

Cheesy pop songs

Time travel

Big business trying to pollute the world for money

Tim Allen

"Moral lessons" about the world's pollution

Any appearance of real life celebrities playing themselves protecting the environment

First lets get this straight, Rowling is not making this "sequel" book. It is in fact a fan made book that is being sold at EldersCrossing.com

A sequel to the Harry Potter series has been made and has a website to promote it. The book, titled James Potter and the Hall of Elders' Crossing, is about the adventures of Harry Potter's eldest son. The book will be 360 pages and is being made by George Lippert, a 37 year old digital artist from St. Louis, Missouri. Mr. Lippert has stated that he wrote the book for his family who are fans of the series and were looking forward to more.

Christopher Little, Rowling's agent, has targeted any unauthorised works trading on the Harry Potter name. But experts specialising in copyright law say it may be less straightforward to prosecute Mr Lippert because young James Potter makes a fleeting appearance in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows

The site is well made and is so realist that many people who have stumbled across it have theorised that J.K. Rowling is behind it, which was proven false by the face that Rowling is attempting to sue Lippert over copy right. Upon entering the site a brief video promoting the upcoming book followed by a countdown clock to the day of the book's release is displayed. From the excerpts and the artwork it is quite clear that Lippert has really dedicated himself to this project. The drawings are in the style of the Harry Potter books and the writing is very similar to the style of Rowling. I look forward to this book and will enjoy it as what it is... fan fiction.

Yahtzee of Escapist Magazine has posted a new video reviewing Phantom Hourglass. Before you watch the video and hear him do his wonderful job of bashing the quirks we all can't stand well making us giggle as he uses British curse slang, I just want to point out that I have the game and rather enjoy it. Yes it is the same basic formula as ever other Zelda game, but I have to say I, unlike Yahtzee, enjoyed the DS features, the cute humor, and the game's ability to kill 20-30 hours of my week without me even noticing.

Pike Cast in New Star Trek Movie
Bruce Greenwood has been cast as Christopher Pike, the Starship Enterprise's first captain. For the major fans of the original series they know that Captain Pike was the captain of the Enterprise in the original pilot of Star Trek, but when the show was eventually approved (much later than expected) the actor playing him was unable to return for filming so Captain Kirk was created in his place. Pike later returned as the "first captain of Enterprise" in a special two-part episode.

Eragon Gets a Fourth Book
I don't know how many of you have enjoyed the Eragon books (Inheritance Trilogy) written by Christopher Paolini. He has only produced Eragon and Eldist and we have been waiting for the third book for about three years. Now, after the years of silence, in has been announced that the delay is due to the fact that now the Inheritance Trilogy is becoming a quartet. There are now going to be four books in the Inheritance Cycle with the third coming out September 23, 2008.

This is both great news and dismal news. The great news is that Paolini isn't going to cut the story and shorten the book in order to keep in a trilogy. The problem, if it's going to take him four years (in total) to release the third book, how much longer do we have to wait for the fourth book? Well, like most good books, I'll still be waiting for it if it takes 10 years, only I might not enjoy it as much as my future kids will by then.

Mark Wahlberg Cast as Max Payne
Yup, Mark Wahlberg (aka Marky Mark) will be playing the part of the movie adaptation of the popular Rockstar game Max Payne.

I have one word to describe this news... meh.

The game was okay, not great but not bad. Mark Wahlberg is a good actor who sometimes does crappy movies, but since I really enjoyed The Italian Job, I'll give this one a chance.

Scrubs Not Getting a Finale
Due to the WGA strike, the series finale for Scrubs has yet to be written and will thus not be shown until this strike is over. It looks quite likely that the episode will not be shown this season, but Bill Lawrence, creator of Scrubs, has promised that if NBC doesn't show it, he will get it to air on ABC.

This news is amongst many shows suffering due the strike. Heroes is going into reruns and The Office has completely stopped production, firing all it's hair dressers, set designers, etc.I am all for the strike but I do miss my shows. I just hope that Hollywood realizes soon how important writers are before we see hundreds of reality shows covering our tv screens.

The Movie Blog Becoming Sci Fi Mission

Wow. Just wow. About a week after the news about Major Spoilers comes the news that The Movie Blog is shutting down. Fortunately though, John Campea, Doug Nagy, Bruxy Cavey, and Darren Conley aren't going away. They have signed up with Coming Soon and starting a new sight dedicated to everything scifi at www.scifimission.com. The site will be going up later this month and will include not just movies but comics, tv shows, and even videogames.

I am happy for the group. I've been a fan of theirs for a few years now and I know John has been working hard to live his dream, being paid to talk about what he loves. If only we were all so lucky but hey, best of luck guys.

Stupid Keyboard

Sorry for the lack of news/posts the past two weeks. It's not that I am joining the Writer's Guild strike but my keyboard might. Let me explain.

For the last month work has become quite busy. I've had very little sleep and very have been forcing myself to post when I get a minute or two and still trying to survive my classes. Well, one morning, very tired and very weary, my alarm went off and unfortunately I had a glass of orange juice only half drunk next to it. If you are good at seeing story lines a few steps ahead of the movie then you can guess what happened. I spilled the orange juice onto my keyboard.

If you have trouble getting up to alarms or have no motivation to get out of bed, trust me. There is nothing in the world that will have you wide awake and leaping out of bed then the fear of liquid running loose on your desk and all the electronic equipment there upon in. I was able to save everything else, but my keyboard was greatly damaged. Even though I opened it up and fully dried it, it skips keys or some keys trigger other ones. And worst of all, I'm poor so I can't even afford a new keyboard until payday which thankfully is this week.

So, yeah. I wasn't on strike... my keyboard was. Or is in spirit I guess. Or as my friend would say it "your keyboard really hates you and wishes you dead."

Wow, I didn't mean to make this a long post but hey, I guess I owe you an actual "blog" post once in a while.

Major Spoilers Shuts Down

Major Spoilers, one of my favorite blogs to get information on the comic community, is shutting down. Stephen Schleicher, the creator and writer of the site, has decided to shut down due to the demands of the real world which is something that haunts all us bloggers. I'm just sorry to see that it has become too much for him and that the internet is losing a great blogger and information source.

I've enjoyed the man's creative and interesting way of reviewing comics. He cuts out the mess and gets right to the heart of the story and even gives us a quick side note on each of the more interesting geeky tidbits. His enormous mental database of comic knowledge and his willingness to share it with us has been a pleasure. I wish him luck in his decision (with I completely support) and I hope that someday when his life has calmed down again he might be open to the possibility of returning to us.

The site will remain up until October 31st before he finally pulls the plug so if you have time today stop by and take a look.

J. K. Rowling Glad to Reveal that Dumbledore is Gay
Last week J. K. Rowling, the creative mind behind the popular Harry Potter books, revealed that Albus Dumbledore is gay. This revelation has shocked many people and has created a lot of buzz for the author. At another conference this week Rowling shared that very early into her writing of the books she already had the idea in her head that the beloved Headmaster was gay. She was glad to say that the whole thing was "freeing" and that one man even came out at Carnegie Hall after the announcement.

Honestly, I was worried this was nothing more then a publicity stunt but looking back on the books and looking more closely at Dumbledore, it becomes quite obvious. It even better explains the young Dumbledore's relationship with the dark wizard Grindelwald as apparently many fans have suspected.

The Dark Crystal Returns!!!
TokyoPop and The Jim Henson Company have decided to come together and make a prequel graphic novel to The Dark Crystal. The novel is titled Legends of The Dark Crystal: The Garthim Wars and TokyoPop has released the following description:

YEAH!!!! One less videogame made into a terrible movie. What? Did you want to know why he droped out? Who cares. I'm just glad he did because that is one giant nail in this movies coufin.

And James T. Kirk is....

... Chris Pine. Who? Exactly. This guy is best known for his roles in Smokin' Aces (yeah, it took me a second to remember who he played) and a bunch of romance movies (including Princess Diaries 2 and Just My Luck). So in other words.. the movie has made a jumping leap towards "holy crap, what the hell is this garbage."

I'm sure the guy is a very talented actor. I'm sure he will dedicate a lot of effort and time towards a role this big, but I can't see a new, revitalized Star Trek movie sitting on this man's shoulders. Kirk has to be a nerd's idol, a bad-ass hero, a playa, and cunning leader all in one. I just can't picture this guy doing it.

I will still watch the movie besides the unfavorable choice, but now I've lost a lot of confidence in how good this movie will be now. Oh well, I can always wait till the sequel because everyone knows only the odd number Star Trek movies suck.

Three more for Star Trek Movie

Simon Pegg, Eric Bana, and John Cho have been cast in the upcoming Star Trek.

Simon Pegg, made popular by his leading role in Shaun of the Dead, has been cast as Scotty. This is great news for the geek community because Simon is a known geek and having a true geek in the movie definitely makes the movie more for the fans then the public at large. Yes, in some ways it's a smaller role but just having one of us in there is more than enough to give me a smile.

Eric Bana, the man we know from several movies but can't decide if we like him, has been cast as the main bad guy "Nero." I also love this news because it add more face recognition to the picture. Like I said, we are still not sure if we like him yet for making a terrible Hulk and a pretty good Trojan, but he is a well known actor in Hollywood.

Last but not least... John Cho, the "MILF" guy from American Pie and Harold of Harold and Kumar, has been cast as Sulu. I loved Harold and Kumar, it was a funny, drug-induced movie, but I just don't see him as Sulu. But, then again I never thought Doogie Houser would snort coke off of a hooker's butt well in a speeding car so I will definitely give him a fair chance.

So with these new additions to the movie that leaves two roles to go. We need a Dr. Bones McCoy and most importantly a great Captain James T. Kirk whom I think will really determine how people perceive this movie. Choose wisely J.J. Abrams.

Gods & Heroes Cancelled

On the Gods & Heroes site they announced the game was being placed on "indefinite hold" or in other words "cancelled." Here is a highlighted version of their reasons for cancellation.:

Recently, we took a step back to evaluate the competitive landscape, the game's current state, and the overall goals for our organization... we also realize that achieving the level of quality and polish that we are committed to will take a significant investment...After assessing all of Perpetual's opportunities, we have made the decision to put the development of Gods & Heroes on indefinite hold... Moving forward, we're shifting our collective focus, resources and development efforts to Perpetual's Platform Services division and Star Trek Online, thereby ensuring that the game lives up to the high level of expectation set by the dedicated Star Trek fan base...

So, in other words they are stopping work on the game because they can't make it as good as they want and they would rather put their efforts into Star Trek Online. I am looking forward to Star Trek Online so this is great news on that front, but I was also interested in seeing how Gods & Heroes turned out. Gods & Heroes was getting great reviews and hype from gaming conventions, shows, sites, and magazines. It seems almost stupid to cancel a game with so much great press.

Well, like I said this is probably great news for Star Trek Online at least. Now I know they will have a bigger team working on it to make it great. I hope.

Now I better go. I need to stop by Gamestop to see if I can get my $5 back from reserving the game.

Jumper

Honestly, I'm not the biggest fan of Hayden Christensen. He was one of the main reasons I hated the Star Wars Prequels and I can't stand people who are more famous for being pretty then their skills, but this movie his new movie Jumper actually looks good.

Basically, the idea of the movie is that there are people who have the ability to "jump " or teleport from one point to another at will (kind of like Hiro from Heroes without the time travel aspect). The main character, played by Christensen, has been using his powers for quite some time when he runs into another Jumper and ends up in the middle of a war. The war is between Jumpers and Paladins (people who pursue Jumpers and kill them), whose leader is played by Samuel L. Jackson.

The concept sounds decent and since this movie is based off a book, the story should actually be well thought out. The trailer is definitely flashy and exciting so I will probably buy a ticket on February 15, 2008 and check it out. Just call me a "consumer whore."

Star Trek Movie Casts Uhura
Zoe Saldana, most notabliy seen in the first Pirates of the Caribbean, has been cast as Lt. Uhura. So that brings the total of confirmed cast in key roles up to three with Anton Yelchin as Chekov and Zachary Quinto as Spock. That leaves the roles of Kirk, Scotty, McCoy, and Sulu up for grabs.

3 More Kingdom Hearts Coming
It was announced at the Tokyo Game Show that Square Enix is working on three new Kingdom heart titles. Kingdom Hearts: Birth By Sleep for the PSP, Kingdom Hearts: Coded for cell phones and Kingdom Hearts: 358/2 Days co-op for the DS. Somehow I'm getting the impression they are trying to shove Kingdom Hearts down the throats of the consumers. Hope it works and by "hope" I mean "let" and by "works" I mean "die."

Star Wars: The Force Unleashed Has Dual Mode on Wii
Star Wars: The Force Unleashed, a new game coming to the Wii next spring will allow players to swing the Wii-mote like a light saber and use the nunchuk to unleash their Jedi powers. The game will also allow head-to-head action with friends. So essentially this game will allow all the Star Wars fans experience a geek-gasim as they get to fight as Force wielding Jedi. Sounds fun.

Ben 10 Movie Finishes Filming
Cartoon Network has announced that the filming has finished on the upcoming Ben 10 live action movie. The movie is based off of the popular scifi kids show Ben 10 which follows the adventures of a kid with a special devise that allows him to morph into aliens. The movie will feature Graham Phillips as Ben, Haley Ramm as his cousin Gwen, and Lee Majors as his grandfather Max. The movie is due out this November.

This season's winner of Who Wants to Be a Superhero? is, as it turns out, a regular player of the MMORPG City of Heroes/Villains.

The winner, Jarrett "The Defuser" Crippen has responded to a popular thread on the City of Heroes/Villains forums related to his accomplishment...

"Thanks everyone! I really appreciate the support from my brothers and sisters in CoX! Most of my heroes, and all of my 50's are on Champion. I have CoV, but tend to stick to heroes...go figure...heheehe..."

As a geek and video gamer I appreciate the fact that one of my people has accomplished something, which is rare amongst my people. There are few who succeed but maybe this could be a sign of a turning tide or it could be just a fluke. Meh.

Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull

The title for the new Indiana Jones movie has finally been released at the MTV Video Music Awards. "Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull" and I have to say, I like it. It's sounds very Indianaish.

I still have doubt though that this movie is going to be as good as I want it to be, but then again it has Shia LaBeouf who is currently making great movie after great movie so there is always hope. I guess we will have to wait till May 22, 2008 to find out for sure though.

Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII and Ironman

Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII is a prequel to the very popular Final Fantasy VII and will mainly focus around Zack Fair, a 1st Class SOLDIER, and Cloud Strife while he is a lowly Shinra Guard.

Also, here is the new trailer for the upcoming Ironman movie. I have to say, this is very promising and makes me really want to see it. Let's just hope they don't only focus on the special effects and keep the story and acting great as well.

Wii Zapper

The Wii Zapper is designed to combine "our remarkable controllers into one housing with a classic style reminiscent of arcade-style games," says George Harrison, Nintendo of America's senior vice president of marketing and corporate communications. I think it looks more like something a bored gamer would make out of boredom but either way, it's coming. The controller will be packaged with Link's Crossbow Training which will be based on Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess and will basically allow the user to progress through a series of training based shooting games.

The bundle will be released November 19th and will be sold for $20. The Wii Zapper will also be used for Resident Evil: The Umbrella Chronicles, Ghost Squad and Medal of Honor Heroes 2 which will include single player, arcade mode and support for up to 32 players in multiplayer. So, if you aren't planning on buying it, you could be missing out big time.

Okay, not literally a University of Katamari but a drawing of a university getting rolled up Katamari style. This is a of the University of British Columbia in Vancouver getting made into ball on the cover of the Alma Mater Society's handbook. The picture was submitted to Kotaku by one of their readers.

All I have to say is that it reminds me of how much I love the Katamari games for their simplicity and their ability to increase the desire for destruction and chaos in the youth of the world. Oh, and the feeling of being on an acid trip without having to do so..... the games are great at that too.

Dragonball Z Movie
Looks like the Fox studios are soposably budgeting a cool $100 million for a live action Dragonball Z movie. There have been rumors on the internet for years about a potential movie due to the shows extreme popularity a few years back. This one looks like it could be true though, lets just hope they get someone good at combat scenes on this like John Woo or anyone from the first Matrix movie.

Star Trek Movie Plot...Time Travel??
Apparently, the people "rebooting" the Star Trek Franchise have figured out a way to both remake Star Trek and still satisfy the original fans.... time travel. How it works is Romulans from the "future" find themselves in the past and decide to change things by killing the father of James T. Kirk. Who's to stop them? Spock of course and he will change the timeline in the process thus allowing a new series of movies to follow a whole new canon well maintaining the old one.

This can either be considered brilliant or retarded. Instead of doing a clean reboot like they did with the Battlestar Gallactica series they will be using a temporal paradox to change things. I thought the plan was to get new fans to the francise but starting this "new direction" with a confusing storyline could defeat the whole point, but at least the old fans will be happy right? For some reason I doubt it.

Smallville Season 7
Supergirl will be joining the cast this season and will all of Clark's powers, even some he doesn't have yet. She will save Lex and will thus become part of his many pursued obsessions. We won't see much of Martha Kent due to her work in Washington although Clark's birth mother might make an appearance some time this season. Dean Cain will appear this season as a man who has found a cure for meteor freaks and will gain the interest of Chloe (who apparently survived the season finale, as well as Lana although a clone might be involved). Also expect to see more Martian Manhunter, Green Arrow, a possible appearance by Brainiac again, and Zor-el in the flesh.

I've never read the comic that inspired this video. I have a friend who does and he lives by it (when he's bored at work that is, which is most of the time). Maybe I will have to start reading it now.

On second though, I don't feel like it. I'd rather just wait for more videos and the eventual movie. Yeah, that sounds better.

Heroes and Scrubs
In the upcoming new season of the popular Heroes it rumored that one of last season's recurring and popular characters will die in the first two episodes. Also, one of the series regulars will not return well we will see the return of one we thought was died (which I assume they mean Sylar's obvious non-death last season). As for Scrubs, Dr. Kelso will be leaving Sacred Heart some time during the season and Elliot calls off the wedding.

Punisher: War Zone
The Punisher is getting a sequel and now it has a title, Punisher: War Zone. Unfortunately, Thomas Jane from the first movie decided to drop out of the sequel after issues with the filming. He will be replaced by Ray Stevenson, who's greatest acting achievement so far seems to be a part in the HBO series Rome.

'Witch Mountain' Remake with 'The Rock'
Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson is apparently going to play a Las Vegas Taxi Driver in the remake of the 1975 Disney movie "Escape to Witch Mountain." For those who don't know the first movie it revolved around two kids who had strange abilities that are found to be alien related. The "alien related" part is clearly the reason for the choice of story location due to it's proximity to Area 51 in the Nevada desert. The thought of this remake is quite disheartening though. The location makes sense story wise but Las Vegas isn't exactly the best place to set a family movie, and with "The Rock" in this movie there is a high probability of a senseless fight scene showing off Johnson's wrestling movies.

A No Brainer!!!

A No Brainer is my newly created webcomic. It's not much right now but getting started was the hardest part. Now that I've got my first comic up, I know exactly what it will take from me to make more... which is a lot of effort. I don't have any fancy software so I will add new comics once a week, most likely Mondays. I will let you know as we go along.
