Triumph, The Insult Comic Dog, at Comic-Con 2008

I'm a geek through and through. I'm all about nerd stuff and if I had the money I too would be there at Comic Con amongst Triumph's victims. But for some reason I still love listening to him make fun of my people. Perhaps it's a form of masicism or I'm amongst the few people who have the ability to laugh at themselves. I'll let you decide which... or add a new more interesting option. I like surprises!!

Anyways, here's the video footage of Triumph at Comic Con 2008 making fun of geeks and freaks. Enjoy

Newsie News 10/25

J. K. Rowling Glad to Reveal that Dumbledore is Gay
Last week J. K. Rowling, the creative mind behind the popular Harry Potter books, revealed that Albus Dumbledore is gay. This revelation has shocked many people and has created a lot of buzz for the author. At another conference this week Rowling shared that very early into her writing of the books she already had the idea in her head that the beloved Headmaster was gay. She was glad to say that the whole thing was "freeing" and that one man even came out at Carnegie Hall after the announcement.

Honestly, I was worried this was nothing more then a publicity stunt but looking back on the books and looking more closely at Dumbledore, it becomes quite obvious. It even better explains the young Dumbledore's relationship with the dark wizard Grindelwald as apparently many fans have suspected.

The Dark Crystal Returns!!!
TokyoPop and The Jim Henson Company have decided to come together and make a prequel graphic novel to The Dark Crystal. The novel is titled Legends of The Dark Crystal: The Garthim Wars and TokyoPop has released the following description:
Lahr and Neffi are gentle and fun-loving Gelflings who want little more than to enjoy the simple pleasures of life and love. But when their villages are attacked and plundered by the violent Garthim, their worlds are turned upside down as they narrowly escape with their lives. Now, united against insurmountable odds, the two Gelflings must put aside their peaceful ways and emerge as heroes to lead a frightened neighboring village into something they never thought they’d face-war.

If you were a fan of the original movie, then I suggest you keep an eye out for this novel. And if you feel very kind, buy me a copy. Please and thank you!!

The Rock Drops Out of Spy Hunter
YEAH!!!! One less videogame made into a terrible movie. What? Did you want to know why he droped out? Who cares. I'm just glad he did because that is one giant nail in this movies coufin.

Looking for Group Video

Taking a song from The Little Mermaid, adding an undead Warlock and animation creates the following:

This video is from Looking for Group and is pretty damn funny, especially when he "looks into these eyes."

I've never read the comic that inspired this video. I have a friend who does and he lives by it (when he's bored at work that is, which is most of the time). Maybe I will have to start reading it now.

On second though, I don't feel like it. I'd rather just wait for more videos and the eventual movie. Yeah, that sounds better.

Buffy Season 8 Comic

If you keep an eye on my "Mental Notes" section in my sidebar then you noticed that I had up a note about the Buffy Season 8 comic that Joss Whedon is doing with the help of Dark Comics. Well, the first comic came out, sold out, and is got a second printing before issue 2 comes out (April 4th).

I didn't get the comic. I'm going to wait till they print them all and then print them all again in a nice single book that I can buy at a cheaper price then all the comics combined. Well I wait though Matt Peterson over at Major Spoilers has done us the nice favor of buying, reviewing, and summarizing the first issue for us.

You can read the review/summary here.

If this first comic is a good indication for the rest of the "season" then I am looking forward to seeing the rest of the story unfold.
